Dodger Cardboard & Other Random Finds

Dodger mailbox was full today. A couple of trades from TCDB showed up, as well as a package from a redditor, ProZskillet. ProZSkillet has been a great trading partner as this is probably our 4th swap over the last few months. He included a pile of 2018 Donruss Dodgers. Very confusing for me as I'm not that familiar with Donruss products now days, but they apparently do odd little variations to their base cards. Like the one Belli saying Los Angeles across the bottom right and the other saying Unanimous ROY. Oh, and there's a 3rd variation of it too. And to that a 1984 Donruss Belli throwback, and this is the variation of it! The base is still out there somewhere. Note the 2 Seager's as well. One's a variation. The Kershaw, a variation. Geez. I remember 1981 Donruss being so confusing with all the errors. Are they doing this on purpose? Alot of people don't like Topps Fire and while the 2019 set was a huge step down from the stellar looking 2...

Everything old, will eventually be cool again. For years I witnessed vinyl records being discarded like they carried the plague or something. Now, it seems to be cool to own a record player and spin that vinyl. It was always cool with me. My dad buys early century phonographs and restores them. His house is a museum of the progression of recorded music.  Victrolas, Edisons, you name it, it's there.  My wife, the three kids and I are all huge fans of Stranger Things. To me, it brings back that innocence of being a kid in the 1980's all too well. Watching it conjurs up memories of my cousins, my friends and I going on all kinds of adventures. We would ride our bikes all the way into the next town. No worries in the world about how we would get home, or even if we would get home. We didn't have to stop every 5 minutes to check our Facebook / Twitter / Instagram / Snapchat / TikTok notifications either. Anyway, we purchased the limited edition sound...

As many of you know, I've been kinda quiet lately mostly due to work... but also due to the discovery of how simple life is with the Trading Card Database. I had no idea it would be so easy to swap cards I had no intention of keeping for Dodger cardboard I so coveted. I have been slowly making my way through my collection adding stuff to my collection and my for trade lists. The trades I have made after adding just a small fraction of what I will eventually have on there are astounding. Wes Parker becomes the second 1970 Topps Dodger card in my collection behind my signed Claude Osteen. Alot of work to go on these. The 74's are not much better as I only own 3 plus one Traded Dodger. The additions of Sutton and Buckner are very welcome though. 3 new 1975 Topps to go with my signed Manny Mota and signed Ken McMullen. All my 75's are beat up, but I like them.
