A Package from the Maestro of Dime Boxes

I had sent Nick over at Dime Boxes -- The Low-End Baseball Card Collector's Journey a package full of Cubs, set needs and miscellaneous other pieces of cardboard a while back and the other day, a package from Nick arrives in my mailbox. Full of Dodger goodness, you could tell Nick looked over my list as 98% of what he packed in there I needed. This pair of Vintage Legends and a 1991 style Archives Jackie Robinson were 3 of my favorites of the bunch. That shot of Pee Wee stirring up some dust is classic Pee Wee Reese stuff.

These came out during my sabbatical from the hobby, but I'm gonna have to search out more Dodgers from this set. Even though these Hometown Heroes don't have logos, they are still pretty awesome and would look tremendous signed.

My Topps flagship needs from the 80's have some serious holes when it comes to the Traded sets and Nick sure helped out as you can see the entire Dodgers lineup from '84 Topps Traded. Side note; Bob Bailor was one of the very 1st Dodgers I ever got ttm. He even added a couple of signed 5x7 photos of his playing days in L.A.

Jesse Orosco from the '88 Traded set. Orosco is one of the most underrated arms ever. Dude was legit fire for the Mets and Dodgers in the mid-late 80's. I used to fear those Mets teams because they had the killer duo of Doc Gooden and Ron Darling starting and another killer duo of Orosco and Roger McDowell coming out of the pen.

1989 Traded Eddie Murray! Love that '89 design and a smooth photo on this one.

Oh, Billy Ashley... I thought this guy was gonna be the Franchise back in the day. Billy was an amazing pinch hitter, but that was all we could count on him for.

Couple of 2013 Topps Mini Kershaws! Can never go wrong with minis... or with Kershaws.

The 2016 Topps Joc Pederson. One of my favorite cards of Joc. Alot of Dodger fans call for his head when he has those occasional slumps, but man is he a monster when he comes out of one.

A set I had none of until Nick sent me this 2016 Topps Holiday Josh Reddick. 2016 & 2017 Holiday Dodger sets now sit at one card each.

My favorite cards of the batch! 19821Topps Scratch Offs Reggie Smith and Ron Cey. I have alot of catching up to do to attain the Dodgers collection I had before bowing out in 2002. 1982 and earlier are like a black hole in my collection now but I'm slowly getting some pieces here and there.

A huge thanks to Nick for the cardboard. I'll have you another batch together soon.
