Rough Turkey Week Ended on a High Note

It's been over a week since I wrote an entry here, the last one was written in advance. The last week has been a rough one for me. The Holidays are always hard when you work in retail mnagement. We work long hours, sacrificing our time with our families so that others can be happy. I've done this for 24 years, and it never gets any easier.

This year was especially rough as we lost my cousin early in the week. He was more like my little brother as he, his older brother and I were always together as kids. Riding our bikes, traversing through our grandfather's woods with our BB guns, and various other acts of general mischief was our forte. I used to trade him out of all of his good baseball cards too. He was a great guy and even tough we grew apart over the years, I'm really gonna miss him.

I've rarely posted over on Reddit, haven't done anything here and have way too many packages backed up that I need to get out to some of you here. To the ones that reached out to me, thank you for the support you gave, and for the patience.

Today I got home and found a package in the mail from a fellow in-state collector from Reddit. I was stoked at the contents including this 2019 Topps Holiday Bellinger Super Rare SP.

This 2019 Topps Home Run Challenge August Winners Bellinger.

2019 Topps Holiday Ryu Relic...
I only need the Bellinger to have all the Dodgers 2019 Holiday Relics.

This assortment of 2019 Archives leaves me needing only Kershaw to finish up my Dodgers base set.

2019 Archives 1994 Future Stars Piazza.

2019 National Baseball Card Day Topps Gallery Kershaw Preview card.

My 3rd 2019 Stadium Club Red Dodgers parallel.

My 1st 2018 Topps All Star Game parallel and its my favorite Dodger.... Dugie!

A 2018 Topps Holiday Kershaw Relic. I also have the Seager in these.

2010 Topps 20/20 Kershaw.

My first Diego Cartaya card is a 2019 Bowman Platinum.

This amazing 2019 Bowman Platinum Top Prospects parallel of Will Smith.

And he tossed in some 2019 A&G Minis.

And some gold bordered minis!

And this 2017 Topps Jose DeLeon gets me down to 5 needed to finish the 2017 Dodgers base team set.

Picked this up at the flea market today from a quarter box. I've been wanting this card for a long time.

Also a quarter box find. A 1995 Bowman Paul Konerko.

Yep. Quarter box. 1992 Leaf Pedro Martinez.

My favorite flea market find was this 1989 Topps folder of Kirk Gibson. I had some of these when I was a kid, but I never could find any of the Dodgers around here.

Also picked up a clearance blaster of 2018 Topps Series 2 and got the last base Dodger I needed for the 2018 set!

Also pulled the base 1983 Topps Buehler. I already had the black parallel, silver pack, and silver pack black parallel of this card so it's nice to finally have the base.

DeJong SP was in the blaster as well. I never pull the Dodger SP variations.

  1. Sorry for your loss. :-( Good luck coping with the crazy week and mix of emotions.

That's a really nice group of cards you got. I didn't realize Stadium Club was still a thing... Back in the 90s, I believe most or all of them were full bleeds: is that still the case?

    1. As far as I know that is still the case with Stadium Club. The photography work with Stadium Club is just phenomenal. Nothing comes close to them imo.
